Q. Is it true that wallpaper paste is made from potato?
A. Originally, wallpaper paste was made of a startch mix made from potato pulp.
These days, the formulas are much more advanced and include ingredients to improve
how smoothly the flakes mix into a paste, active ingredients to prevent mould
growth and catalysts to make the flakes mix in 20 seconds. We wouldn't recommend
that you use mashed potatoes to hang your next roll up!
Pink Extra Strong All Purpose Wallpaper Adhesive
Q. Is Solvite
Pink as strong as normal Solvite Wallpaper Adhesive?
A. Yes. The only difference is that Solvite Pink Wallpaper Adhesive contains
a colourant to help you see exactly where the paste has been applied.
Q. The fact
that the paste is pink worries me. Will it totally dissapear as you say?
A. We guarantee that it won't stain but you must wipe off
excess paste and accidental splashes immediately with a damp cloth to avoid
staining. It takes approximately
1 to 5 minutes to dissapear (it may take longer on embossed wallpapers and
depending on how thick you have applied the paste).

Q. Can I use
Paste The Wall Extra Strong Wallpaper Adhesive on normal wallcoverings?
A. No. We would recommend that you use Solvite Extra Strong All Purpose Wallpaper
Adhesive for hanging wallpapers other than "Paste The Wall" Wallcoverings.
Q. Is Solvite
Paste The Wall adhesive available in other size packs?
A. At the moment, Solvite Paste The Wall Extra Strong Wallpaper Adhesive is
only available in a sachet that hangs up to 6 rolls from most good retailers
in a distinctive silver, yellow and blue pack
Q. Can I use
normal Solvite Extra Strong Wallpaper Adhesive mixed up with Solvite Paste
The Wall Wallpaper Adhesive in the same bucket?
A. We wouldn't recommend this as Extra Strong Wallpaper Adhesive has different
properties to Paste The Wall Wallpaper Adhesive which is suitable for specific
use with certain "Paste the wall" wallpapers. Mixing the two together
may affect the strength and formulations in both Adhesives and subsequently
lead to product failure.

Q. Can I add water to the bucket of Solvite Ready To Use to make it go that
little bit further than it says on the bucket?
A. We wouldn't recommend that you add anything to the bucket as the paste has
been ready mixed to an exact consistency for perfect pasting results.

Solvite Overlap and Border Adhesive
Q. How do I remove the border adhesive from a painted wall once the border has been removed?
A. We would recommend that you use sugar soap and a stiff brush (such as a nail brush) to remove the adhesive residue.

Q. Can this product be used to hang wallpaper?
A. No, it is purely for sealing walls BEFORE wallpapering.
Q. Can this product be painted over?
A. No, it is only to be used before wallpapering to ensure good adhesion of wallpaper.
